Arbuckle Lake officially called Lake of the Arbuckle's is part of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, one of the few national parks in the state of Oklahoma. Its beauty is maintained since all land around the lake is owned by the park. The lake is know for great fishing as the largest bass in the state has been caught here. On Thursdays you will typically find a fishing tournament.
Annually a large fishing tournament is held in conduction with Riverwind Casino. The pros turn out in force for this event. Come out just to see the boats and the massive matching pickups that pull the boats.
The lake has 36 miles of pristine shoreline and is one of the few clear lakes in Oklahoma. It has rocky areas but plenty of open water way for boating, jet skiing, wake boarding or water skiing. There is no marina on the lake so be sure you bring your toys full of gas and your coolers full! Options beyond lake include walking the many trails of the Chickasaw Recreation Area, part of our national parks system.
The park rangers monitor traffic on the lake. You can purchase permit for lake at Point Boat Ramp or Guy Sandy Boat Ramp. Permits are available for the day or you can get 3 day pass.
